You may already know this young Cape Breton singer for her delightful vocal contributions to Ashley MacIsaac's Hi..How Are You Today?. On this 1997 album, her first solo work, she weaves a marvelous fusion of traditional Gaelic vocal stylings with modern rhythms, planting herself firmly in the emerging 'New Celtic" genre with artists such as Natalie MacMaster, Capercaillie, Eileen Ivers, and MacIsaac. Her rich, distinctive voice is powerful and moving, equally at home in traditional laments or straightforward folk-pop interpretations. Refreshing, delightful, and definitely recommended!
