Hidden Sky derives from a phrase taken from a poem by Deena Metzger, which is featured in a track entitled, Mandlovu Mind'. 'The title speaks to the vastness of clarity within us that is attained through meditation, spiritual revelation, or in my case, a meeting with the greatest beings on this planet: the elephant.' Additionally, the album features a talanted array of musicians: Nancy Wilson (Heart), Rhiannon, Rich Heizman, and Ya Elah (a Balkan/Eastern European women's singing group from the Bay area.

Jami's electric cello and Thai elephants on percussion combine to make some very good vibes together. Not just a curiousity, this is trans-species music. Okay, the elephants don't play on every track, but their presence is felt.
