On this 1994 release subtitled The Pioneering Composers, vocalists such as Toshi Reagon, Sweet Honey in the Rock, Michelle Lanchester, Bernice Johnson Reagon, and Yasmeen celebrate the work and legacy of six composers who created a new repertoire of sacred song.
