In addition to a few solo releases, this accomplished harpist is known for being half the duo Celestial Winds (we have listed their album Moonsongs for years). Her 2001 release is a peaceful and contemplative instrumental tapestry of Celtic harp, woodwinds, lute, santour, tar, dulcimer, strings and gentle wind percussion. She's accompanied by female and male members of the Persian group Lian Ensemble (whose name means 'Peace,' who had to emigrate from their native Iran because they are Sufi's, and ironically whose shows have been cancelled recently because promoters fear gathering crowds of Middle Eastern descent), as well as Renaissance musicians from Musica Angelica. She includes both 16th century Celtic and Renaissance repertoire includes tunes such as A Ladie Sweet and Kind, Eleanor Plunkett, Chanter's Tune, Lauda de Maria Maddalenna... as well as originals such as As Ye Lay in Slumber (Song for Annelyse). Her notes open with her thanks to Infinite Wisdom/ Mother of Life... this is the spirit of this beautiful collection.
