Notes / Reviews
Many of you of the Women's Music generation already know and love the music of Michele Isam (whether you know it or not), because she was half of the outstanding duo Jasmine.

Michele's solo release is a must-have for all feminist fans of famed sharp shooter and cowgirl Annie Oakley: it features a suite of 5 songs about American icon Annie Oakley - just in time for Annie's 150th birthday, in August of 2010.

Annie was the first American female superstar, widely known for her participation in Buffalo Bill's Wild West show during a 17-year period. She was a major supporter of women's rights, well over a century ago.

"I noticed that she truly doesn't receive the credit she deserves in current historical recordings. Her image still suffers from the depiction that most people recognize from the 'Annie Get Your Gun' play and movie. I want people to know that Annie is a symbol of courage and a true feminine icon," says the artist.

So after researching Annie's story for over 2 years, Michele was inspired to record music which offers a glimpse into Annie's real life. She threads history through music and successfully entertains while offering a true educational lesson.

Michele Isam's seemingly effortless vocal range combined with a adult contemporary sound and historical presence makes her the perfect representation of contemporary American music.

Plus... the collection includes other original music, most notably a collaboration with Carol Schmidt - the other half of the Jasmine duo. If you've been craving something new from Jasmine, your long wait is over!
