Tret says that her 2010 release is her most personal work yet, and that 'there's something here to pull on each and every heartstring.'

'The Horizon is my 12th body of work and I do think my best. I know I say that for every CD, but an artist does always hope to improve, to create better and better work. This CD is rich with the joys and struggles of my life. It is a continuation of my journey and by far the deepest in that respect. I feel there is something for everyone, from blues to Latin to folk to eclectic, from family to heart to heartbreak. I'm told it is my best, and I do think it is.'
