Album information
The album is available in two different editions: a one-disc edition called My Love: Essential Collection as well as a two-disc edition called My Love: Ultimate Essential Collection.. Retrieved September 5, 2008. It includes all the hits plus few bonuses: "My Love" (live version), "There Comes a Time" - a previously unreleased song recorded during the Taking Chances sessions and produced by Emanuel Kiriakou. Other songs include "Dance with My Father" produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and co-produced by James "Big Jim" Wright which appeared only on So Amazing: An All-Star Tribute to Luther Vandross, and "I Knew I Loved You" produced by Quincy Jones which was available only on We All Love Ennio Morricone.
On March 30, 2009 the one-disc edition was released in Eastern-European countries (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary) and Greece in a paper slider-pack.
My Love: Essential Collection wasn't released in Japan, because Sony Music Entertainment Japan already issued a greatest hits compilation there, called Complete Best. "My Love", originally from Dion's 2007 album Taking Chances, was recorded live during the Taking Chances Tour. It premiered on the radio on September 22, 2008 as the first single from the album. The physical 2-track single was released on October 20, 2008.. Retrieved August 29, 2008.
Although an album version of "I'm Alive" was included on My Love: Essential Collection, the new remix by Laurent Wolf was released to promote it in France, instead of "My Love"..
