Perla Batalla's collection of original and traditional tunes demonstrates how accomplished a composer and performer she is -- and we wish we'd known her sooner, perhaps while she was singing backup for k.d. lang or Leonard Cohen. Performing Songwriter magazine lauds her talent as she "swings easily from celebratory to sultry, from folk to jazz." Don't be fooled by this CD's title -- it is not about mirrored, spinning balls -- it is the name of her parent's record shop in California.
