This 1996 album, divided into two parts, artfully combines her subtle, mesmerizing narrations with percussion-oriented dance music. The first half is a companion piece to the video 'workout', The Wave, and is designed to lead listeners/participants through the Five Rhythms (Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, Stillness), with narrated instruction by Gabrielle. The second half features new music, without narration, to inspire listeners to create their own unique and unguided 'movement journey'.
