Moanin' Malone has been on the road this year, and if you're out West, you're anticipating her opening for the Indigo Girls starting Nov 2003. Then it's back East in December.
Michelle's latest update email encourages us to call our local radio stations to request Lafayette, a bluesy song which features a slippery bottleneck guitar. This is a Southern album, and reviews contain words like, "swampy," "greasy," and "bootstompin'."
"It's cranked up and stripped down," Malone says. "It's specific to Georgia in that it has all the great Georgia roots influences mixed in there, including acoustic, old-school electric, a little Southern blues and gospel, and a whole lot of rock 'n' roll."
This is Michelle's first solo release on Daemon, Amy Ray's (Indigo Girls) Atlanta-based label.
