'Winter joined me on a journey back to my Celtic roots for my second solo album. Song of the Sea is similar to Incantation in it's fusion of traditional Celtic and modern rock elements, but is far more sophisticated in both performance and production. (Thank you to Paul and Winter at El Mundo Bueno Studios for the production part!) It features several of Pandemonaeon's musicians, not the least of which is our darling Gari Hegedus, also of Stellamara, playing mandocello, violin, and whistles. Lee Neal and Jeff Obee lend their drum and bass talents, and we were also joined by an exquisite pianist named Jeffrey Chin on a few songs. One of my favorite aspects of this album, however, was the opportunity to sing two duets with Shay Black. (That was a fun night, that may or may not have involved Irish whiskey ;+) ) Having been a Mary Black fan for years, it was truly an honor to get to sing with this fabulously talented member of the Black family, whose voice is every bit as gorgeous as Mary's (although somewhat more baritone). Our voices sound wonderful together, and I am very pleased to have Shay on the album.'
